INNER MONGOLIA MEDICAL COLLEGE (IMMC)

Founded in 1956, Inner Mongolia Medical College (内蒙古医学院) was the first medical institute of higher learning by the China Central Government in an area inhabited by minority nationalities. IMMC is located in Hohhot, the capital city of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

PUBLIC SPEAKING FINALS

The 2010 FLTRP Cup National English Speaking Contest Semi Finals for the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region was sponsored by the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press. Hosted by Warren Rodwell and Lily Yan Xinli, the contest was held on Saturday 13th November 2010 at the new campus of Inner Mongolia Medical College ( IMMC ), Hohhot. A total of thirty four ( 34 ) contestants spoke in the morning. Fourteen ( 14 ) of them competed in the afternoon. The top three finalists gained the opportunity to participate in the National Competition in Beijing, capital of the Peoples Republic of China.

After what could best be described as a one (1) year sabbatical in South America, Oceania and South East Asia, Warren Rodwell travelled from Shanghai, mainland China – Hong Kong – South Africa – Argentina  – Uruguay – Chile – Australia with sidetrips to Fiji and Vanuatu in the Pacific Ocean; then onto Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam … enroute back to Shanghai destined for Inner Mongolia (China) for another university teaching contract initially scheduled to run until mid 2011.
